A Somnus Data file is an encoded (but not encrypted)* data file which includes all case data and associated items (eg. operations, personal lists, etc), timers, notes & clinical photos. Patient information including ID labels is also included.

All data items, including the Case, have unique identifiers and Cases have unique save dates.

If the same Case is imported to a device which has an older version of that Case, it will overwrite it with the new import. If not, it will be skipped.

* While the exported Somnus Data File contains no human readable text and the data is all encoded, it is not encrypted so please consider where you save these files. In contrast, your database stored in iCloud is encrypted.

🔥 A Somnus Data File can be a great way to send your cases to a colleague running Somnus (eg. a Registrar/Resident sending the list to their Consultant/Attending). Sending via AirDrop is the fastest way to do this.
